How Link Inserter Works
The Link Inserter adds internal links to existing articles on your WordPress site, improving SEO and connecting related content.
How It's Different from Internal Linking
- Internal Linking (in Article Writer) — Adds links when generating new articles
- Link Inserter — Adds links to articles that are already published
Input Methods
Provide the article content using any of these:
- Google Docs URL — Paste a link to a Google Doc
- DOCX Upload — Upload a
.docxfile - Rich Text Editor — Paste or write the link insertion details in the built-in editor
Inserting Links
Steps
- Go to Link Inserter in the sidebar
- Provide the article content (Google Doc URL, DOCX file, or pasted text)
- Click Insert Link
- The system will detect the article's title, URL, and associated WordPress site
- A Change Preview panel appears showing:
- Diff view — Highlights exactly what changed (red = removed, green = added)
- Updated view — Shows the full article with links applied
- Review the changes, then click Apply to WordPress to save
Best for older posts: Use this on posts published before you had much content. Adding internal links to them helps distribute link equity across your site.
